Latest (2014) Samsung Galaxy Phones - Specs and Price in Nigeria

on . Posted by Raphael
The first Samsung galaxy phone was released in June 2009, since then, Samsung has produced so many Galaxy series devices that it is almost impossible to keep track of all of them. Yet only a few of them really stood out from the crowd. The Galaxy S2 was able to set a new standard for android devices and it is one of the first true competitors to the iPhone. This year, Samsung Electronics released more of the Galaxy series devices into the market and they are super cool. Let's take a look at them below. The first release this year is the first on the list while the latest is the last on the list.
Compare these phones with Tecno's smartphones and Apple's iPhone.

Samsung Galaxy Fame

If you really need a Samsung Galaxy in your pocket but don't have the money to go for big names like the Galaxy Note or Galaxy S4, then the Galaxy fame is just perfect for you. Samsung Galaxy S4

Samsung Galaxy S4 Active

The Samsung Galaxy S4 Active has the same power and full HD screen as the Galaxy S4 above but it comes with an extra advantage: it's fully water proof. If you've always wanted to take a call in the shower on in the rain, this is the phone for you. The Galaxy S4 active is fully submersible in water to a depth of 1 meter for up to 1 hour. Also, the glossy plastic back panel of the Galaxy S4 has been replaced with a matte grey panel with a subtle honeycomb effect in the Galaxy S4 Active. Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3

If you value screen size more than anything else in a smart phone, then the Galaxy Mega 6.3 was made for you. This giant has really pushed the boundary of what should be called a phone. Its 6.3 inch screen makes sending a quick text with one hand almost impossible and you'll look funny holding it to your face to make a call. It's battery life is great though. The Galaxy Mega 6.3 is not yet available in Nigeria but the Galaxy Mega 5.8 is very much available.

Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom

The Galaxy S4 Zoom has an impressive 16-megapixel sensor and it's the only smart phone with an optical zoom (10x). It's perfect if you're completely obsessed with zooming; if not, it might not be worth it. It's awkward fat body, unimpressive performance and low-resolution screen is just enough for anyone to choose the Galaxy S4 (which has higher specs than the Galaxy S4 Zoom in every other aspect) over the Galaxy S4 Zoom..
  • OS: Android OS, v4.2.2 (Jelly Bean)

Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini

The Galaxy S4 Mini is a smaller version of the Galaxy S4; not just smaller in size but in specs too. It comes with a 1.5 GB RAM and an 8 mega pixel camera unlike the Galaxy S4 with a 2 GB RAM and a 13 mega pixel camera. At 4.3 inches, the Galaxy S4 Mini is much more manageable than its 5 inches big brother and it's very comfortable to hold with one hand.
Also available as:
  • Samsung I9192 Galaxy S4 mini with dual SIM card support.
The specs:
  • OS: Android OS, v4.2.2 (Jelly Bean)
  • CPU: Dual-core 1.7 GHz

Samsung Galaxy Note 3

The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is the first device ever to feature 3GB of RAM. The phone's huge 5.7-inch display just sits above its 2.3 GHz quad -core processor. Add a 13 mega pixel camera and you have one of the most powerful phones around. As a Galaxy Note, it naturally has a stylus too. The Galaxy Note 3 is not for everyone because of its large size but if you're looking for a phone to help you with your busy work life and you fancy hand written notes, then the Galaxy note 3 is for you. Its big screen displays webpages and documents easily and it has enough power to handle pretty much anything you'll throw at it.
The Specs:
  • OS: Android OS, v4.3 (Jelly Bean)
  • CPU: Quad-core 2.3 GHz, Quad-core 1.9 GHz, Quad-core 1.3 GHz (depending on the variant)
